This 100% Tequilana Weber spirit from NOM 1438 in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, uses local volcanic spring water. It's double distilled in copper pots after fermentation and aged over 3 years in former Bourbon barrels. It greets you with vanilla and oak aromas, followed by a rich taste of agave and caramel, concluding with a lengthy, balanced finish of pepper and coconut notes. Day 4 of the Advent calendar. Sampled neat. The aroma is sweet and nutty, reminiscent of cake frosting, vanilla, crème brûlée, and vanilla latte. Hazelnut and butterscotch are definitely present. The texture is smooth on the tongue, with notes of white chocolate… or perhaps that's just the Christmas candy I consumed earlier, haha. Adding a large ice cube enhanced it further, bringing out more sweetness, more vanilla, and I'm certain I detect notes of a silver fox snow cone or a wedding cake snow cone.
A very good extra anejo. Prominent flavors of wood and caramel, brown sugar, and a pleasant sharpness from the agave/saponin that complements the other tastes.
The strong initial flavors of caramel and cloves give way to a lingering finish where oak emerges, ending with dark chocolate.
Subtle hints of many flavors - possibly my preferred tequila!
Smells like toffee, starts with pepper, and finishes with caramel.
