The aroma is fruity and warmly spiced, suggesting a grape-based spirit from a small German wine region. The taste is also fruity and spicy, with a hint of pepper, a fresh anise-like quality, and a cardamom finish. When mixed with tonic, the fruitiness recedes, revealing a strongly spiced, slightly herbal, yet very well-balanced profile. It produces more cloudiness in a gin and tonic than I've ever seen, far exceeding the famed Cotswolds gin.
