Bryanna Solis 3.0

Sometimes, I purchase bottles on impulse, particularly when traveling. I might stumble upon something I've never seen before in a duty-free shop in another country. Eddu Silver Double Distillation is a French whisky I acquired at the CDG airport. Originating from the Brittany region of France, Eddu uniquely incorporates buckwheat into its distillation process (instead of the typical barley) due to the local landscape. Interesting fact: 'Eddu' translates to buckwheat in the Breton language. Eddu's aroma is quite straightforward and possesses a gentle toffee sweetness. The taste is distinctive; an immediate warmth that evolves into a rich, almost wine-like flavor. Metallic and oaky notes are present throughout a medium-length, dry finish. While it isn't my absolute favorite, it stands apart from most of my usual choices. What can I say, variety is the spice of life! 7/10
