Early Times 354 Bourbon

This bourbon is a faithful reproduction of a previously popular bourbon that was discontinued in 1983. Rich scents of tobacco, caramel, baking spices, and toasted oak are apparent. The smooth entry presents a dominant taste of charred oak with an undertone of toffee. The finish carries baking spices with a trace of vanilla. This bourbon exemplifies old-school sour mash whiskey, particularly effective in mixed drinks like whiskey sours.

Very inexpensive, yet it offers surprisingly good flavor for the price. Compared to other whiskeys in this cost bracket, there isn't a significant alcohol burn – just solid, expected bourbon taste. It's not a particularly memorable drink, but perhaps that's not entirely negative. Every sip doesn't need to be profound.

I honestly expected this bottle to be awful when I bought it, but you sometimes have to get a budget option. Surprise, surprise, it was actually pretty good! Excellent flavor and very smooth. It's a solid choice for a bottle under $20.

The smell is overpowering alcohol with just a little fruitiness. The flavor is only oak. There's no lingering aftertaste. It's understandable why this is no longer made.

An easy-drinking spirit. Classic caramel and kettle corn aromas. Delivers a nice impact despite its 80 proof. This one is no longer produced, folks. If you come across it, get it!
