I'm unsure about these particular store selections of mashbill #1. Occasionally, you find a bourbon for $40 or less that surpasses most of the standard MB1 offerings, even ranking above EHT single barrel in quality. This is one of those instances. Nose presents green apple, brine, sugar, mild oak, and vinegar. Body has green apple, leather, cherry, honey, and milk. Finish includes mild cinnamon, more apple, a hint of vanilla. Brine appears at the end of the finish. This was truly exceptional. If the increased difficulty in finding MB1 products on shelves is due to barrel pick programs like this, I'm content with that outcome.
