E&J Peach Brandy

Recently, I've been compiling recipes from both my grandmothers for the family. One of them features a Peach Cobbler recipe that requires a good amount of peach brandy, so I got this to try. The cobbler turned out great. In the glass, it leaves nice legs, and the aroma is light peach and vanilla. The body is pleasant and mild with more peach flavors and a slight burn, but it finishes with an unpleasant chemical taste. The finish is surprisingly long for such a low-proof spirit, with sweet peach lingering to the end. I haven't found any cocktails that work with it yet, but I'm still looking. The price is reasonable, and the spirit itself is decent. Enjoy.

It smells of canned peaches and peach jelly beans. There's only a hint of alcohol. The flavor is very sweet, as expected from the aroma, but it also has spice mixed with the peach, like allspice and cinnamon, possibly some honey. It's still sweet but not as syrupy as the canned peach scent suggested. The mouthfeel is lighter than anticipated. The alcohol is barely perceptible until late in the aftertaste.

This was a favorite during my early college days. Unfortunately, Crown Royal Peach has since ruined it for me, and it just doesn't impress me anymore.
