Disappointingly pale; we acquired this as an inexpensive option for a Waterford crystal decanter, intended to avoid high cost or rapid oxidation. The nose showcases all the best qualities of a fine malt. The palate is confusing: it numbs the tip of the tongue with fluctuating tannins and conflicting flavors. Strangely enjoyable, but it would be a letdown if purchased at typical bar prices. Otherwise, no regrets, but it's not particularly exciting.
