About this bottle

San Luis Spirits, established by brothers Gary and Kevin Kelleher in 2005, produces both vodka and gin under the Dripping Springs brand. The spirits are made using 50-gallon copper pot stills and are diluted with water from the Texas Hill Country. Crafted from non-GMO Midwestern corn, the products are gluten-free and certified Kosher by the Houston Kashruth Association. Dripping Springs Artisan Gin, which is bottled at 42.5% ABV, features an undisclosed selection of botanicals, including citrus sourced from the Texas Rio Grande River Valley.

Major Randall 1.0

The worst-tasting gin I have ever encountered; it's completely undrinkable neat, terrible in a martini, and ruins even good tonic. It shouldn't cost more than $5 a fifth. It leaves a dreadful metallic aftertaste; I nearly believed I had been poisoned. Do yourself a favor and never subject your tastebuds to this rotgut.

Alexandria Wakefield 2.0

Gentle floral aromas, but not as smooth as other gins. It also has a faint unpleasant aftertaste. Overall, it's an acceptable gin, but not one I'd suggest, whether drunk straight or in a mixed drink.

Kallie Aragon 4.5

A contemporary gin, so just enough juniper to qualify as gin. Hibiscus and Cardamom notes are prominent for me on this. Enjoyable in a cocktail, and deserving of the gold medal from the IWSC.

Jakob Palacios 4.0

Abundant botanicals and floral notes. It's certainly more unconventional than your typical gin, but it makes a refreshing gin and tonic.

Jameson Gagnon 4.3

Smooth and light with a distinct lemon and citrus essence. Very invigorating for a special touch with a gin and tonic!!

Lacey Alba 3.5

A gin with prominent citrus notes. It opened up a bit when mixed in a Gin and Tonic. Decent.
