About this bottle

This Doc Swinson's bottling features bourbon originally sourced from MGP in Indiana, which the company acquired for its blending operations. Upon evaluation, the whiskey was deemed suitable for a standalone release. It comprises two mash bills: one with 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley, and another with 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. The bourbon has been aged for a minimum of five years and is bottled at 115 proof.

Javon Gatlin 3.5

The aroma doesn't offer much. The alcohol content really dominates, which is a shame because the flavor and finish are quite pleasant, with notes of apple or subtle fruit. The ethanol from the nose doesn't carry over to the palate. The finish feels medium, but the lingering sensation is minimal.

Kathrine Novak 3.5

The nose offers vanilla and not much else. The palate introduces caramel, accompanied by a wave of heat. Following that, the finish transitions pleasantly from caramel to pear, then to oak, and finally to tobacco. Taking another sip restarts the cycle.

Makayla Dailey 3.8

115 proof. $47.99, $50.63 with tax. Batch No. 217001, Unit No. 01375. Flavors include cinnamon, oak, caramel, vanilla cream, peanuts, malt, pepper, corn, and red pepper, with notes of apple. Quite spicy.

Victor Mathis 3.3

Nose: A prominent vanilla and cherry aroma with wood and spice undertones. Taste: Vanilla custard with cherry sauce transitioning into woody spice. Finish: Very brief. Oak and spice, then it's gone.

Ryland Friend 3.8

Vanilla and dark berry notes are present on the aroma. The taste brings caramel, vanilla, and additional dark berry flavors. The ending becomes peppery but diminishes rather fast for its strength. A satisfactory drink overall.

Louise Hogan 4.0

I was surprised by how delicious this was. It had nutty and sweet notes that lasted throughout. The finish was also incredibly long-lasting.
