This drinks like it's older and more intricate than its roughly 2 years would suggest. Nicely balanced between spice, sweetness, and a rich, lingering body; the brief finish actually makes you eager for the next taste — and it improves with each sip. Malty, milky chocolate notes and a faint trace of brown sugar are present in both the aroma and flavor, pleasantly unifying everything; it's perfectly sweet enough. I could consume or mix a good amount of this, and I'm not usually a big rye enthusiast.

Smell: A scent like pumpernickel bread from Outback Steakhouse, accompanied by some floral hints. Taste: It tastes like pumpernickel bread from Outback Steakhouse. Aftertaste: The sensation lingers more on the roof of my mouth and the back of my throat. It's warm but not overpowering. Conclusion: I enjoy this rye and will certainly seek it out on my next visit to the DC region.
Grassy and slightly syrupy on the nose. Sweet, full, and spicy with a hint of heat. Very smooth consumption. Light, pleasing aftertaste.
Unremarkable, grassy, smooth, a fantastic sipper. I'd offer this to someone completely new to rye. A great foundation.
A delightful woody and spicy nose, the initial taste is light with wood and spice, and the spice persists at the finish.
A reliable Rye, well-rounded and satisfying. It boasts a wonderful finish with notes of salt and toffee.
