Dillon's Unfiltered Gin 22

The fact that it's unfiltered could be a positive, couldn't it? This Unfiltered Gin 22 was an early acquisition from Dillons (batch 14). It's named for its creation in a copper pot still, with vapor infused through 22 botanicals. This gin utilizes local Niagara region grapes as its base instead of grain. Unfiltered Gin 22 offers a crisp yet smooth aroma, reminiscent of a creamy melon custard (is that even a real combination?). The first sip feels clean and refreshing, with a subtle hint of sweet tropical fruit. It imparts a flavorful exhale and finish that feels like releasing a puff of balanced botanicals. That slightly herbal and peppery sensation gently remains on the tongue and provides a warming sensation in the chest. This could be enjoyed neat. Although it lacks the elaborate enhancements and complexities of some others, individuals who don't typically favor gin might find this pour agreeable. I value that this gin doesn't have an overpowering juniper character and was crafted with a rich, luxurious mouthfeel. Despite being unfiltered, it presents as quite polished. 8.5/10

Silky and rich, with notes of delicate blossoms and a trace of tropical citrus. Minimal discernible juniper. An exceptional, unique flavor. Creates a wonderfully bright, floral G&T. Significantly superior to Dillon's Dry. Priced at $40 in Ontario.

A gin full of spice and earthy flavors. I can definitely taste pepper and pine. Delicious with lime and tonic.
