Daviess County Double Barrel Bourbon

I was a big supporter of the previous two Davies County wine barrel releases, so I felt confident about this one. Lux Row consistently impresses me, so I'm hopeful this will maintain that standard. Aroma: Caramel, fudge, vanilla, toffee, and brown sugar. Gala apple and dried fruit. Black cherry. Black tea, peppercorn, and tobacco smoke. Black pepper, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and oak. Pumpkin spice. Rye spice. I'm very pleased with this. While the flavor profile is standard, it is rich and potent. Taste: Caramel and fudge are present again, perhaps even dark chocolate. Some mint chocolate. Pistachio. Rye notes. A hint of pipe smoke, cocoa, and black tea. Brown sugar. Cola. Cocoa. Gala apple, dried apricot, golden raisin. The faintest hint of cherry. Black pepper, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and oak. Finish: Caramel, toffee, vanilla. Brown sugar. Fudge. Cocoa. Dried apricot and raisin. Mint/mint chocolate. Black pepper, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, and oak. The finish lasts a moderate to long time. This is another successful release from Lux Row. As I mentioned with the aroma, the overall experience doesn't stray far from the typical bourbon profile. However, it doesn't need to change; this is a skillfully crafted expression. The char from the white oak cask finishing adds a wonderful element. At $55, this is an exceptional value. Lux Row is producing remarkable products in this Daviess County line, and they are readily available to the average consumer. I appreciate that accessibility. It earns a 4.5 out of 5. The value for money elevates it. Well done.

Notes of chocolate and sweet vanilla, with oak and a prolonged spicy, smoky finish. The texture is thinner and it lacks the complexity of OF 1910 or Woodford DO. It's good, but the sweetness on the finish is just adequate. Acquired from Luxe distillery in March 2022, this limited edition was made for ducks unlimited.

This beverage has the characteristics of a Lux Row creation. It's woody and buttery, accented by bright floral notes. I'll happily pour this anytime.
