Cutwater Tequila Lime surpasses the margarita mixes previously available. Those mixes depended heavily on artificial lime flavors or tricks to hide the cheap Tequila that provided the alcohol content. Upon opening a can, the scent of agave is immediate, suggesting confidence in the Tequila's quality to stand alone in this cocktail. Beyond the initial agave aroma, it smells of lime, orange, and a hint of triple sec. This aligns with the ingredients listed on the can. With two shots of Tequila, it has a solid 14% ABV. The taste is that of a well-balanced margarita. It's comparable to a margarita from a reputable restaurant with a competent, though not exceptional, bartender and a reasonable price point. The agave is prominent initially, then balanced by the lime. The triple sec is most noticeable at the end, nicely completing the experience. While the lime doesn't taste freshly squeezed, it's not unpleasant or off-putting either. It also possesses a subtly smoky and salty character. The reason for this is unclear, as the ingredients wouldn't theoretically impart these qualities, but it does enhance the tasting experience. I've sampled several Cutwater Canned Cocktails, and they are consistently impressive. They produce the kind of cocktail I'd bring to an outdoor event or casual gathering to share with friends. As for ready-to-drink options, they rank highly. While this particular margarita isn't their absolute best, it remains a refreshing, well-proportioned choice worth trying.

These are my regular canned cocktails. I humorously refer to them as Zombie Juice because they are quite potent in terms of alcohol content. The flavor is very enjoyable. Citrusy, smooth, without any ethanol burn. Well-balanced flavors. I always keep a can of these in my refrigerator. My only criticism is that Cutwater products tend to be on the sweeter side. It's not enough to warrant a lower rating on the review scale. I am eager to see how this company develops and what flavors they create. I would be thrilled if they tackled Cantaritos.
Not as good as the genuine article, but a convenient alternative. Not excessively sour or sweet.
Quite delicate, with decent flavor.
