About this bottle

La Martiniquaise-Bardinet, the parent company that acquired Cutty Sark in 2018, introduced this 12-year-old Scotch whisky blend in March 2022 to the US and UK markets. This represents the brand's first new product since the acquisition. The whisky is aged for 12 years in casks previously used for bourbon and sherry, and it is bottled at 80 proof.

Larry Nowak 4.5

Cutty Sark's 12-year-old Scotch blend is a step up from their standard offering. It presents delightful scents of oak, lemon, caramel, vanilla, and sweets. This Scotch begins with a velvety texture and follows with flavors of oak, lemon, fig, and sweets. The finish harmoniously combines sweets, lemon, and just a whisper of fig. Cutty 12-year-old Scotch is an excellent option for a 2:1 mix with water or soda.

Stuart Huggins 3.3

First pours from the bottle. It's somewhat reminiscent of a liquid lemon honey cough drop with malt and added honey. On the nose: lemon, honey, herbs, spices, malt, and subtle nutty sherry notes. The palate is thick and oily, with a fleeting finish. A slight bitterness appears towards the end.

Eugenia Paz 3.0

Bitter citrus and caramel notes are present. It's enjoyable considering its cost. It bears a resemblance to another aged spirit, possessing a somewhat defiant character. I would purchase it again.

Magnolia Hough 3.5

This bottle was opened in April 2024, but the whisky inside is quite old, judging by the distinctive label and bottle design, which differ significantly from current commercial releases.
