The aroma is of blackberries, caramel, vanilla, and a hint of anise. The palate has charred oak, more dark berries, and fills the mouth with flavor, with berries being the most prominent. The finish is initially short and slightly drying, then returns with berries, followed by oak a bit later. It's interesting how it comes in stages. A very nice whiskey! My only criticism is a slight astringency, likely due to its advanced age. It was minor but noticeable enough to bother me. This was a sample I got from a friend.
