A generous gift from a close companion. It offered abundant notes of CC 43 and 44. We sampled it briefly the other evening; my companion favored 43 while I leaned towards 44, though we had already consumed a few drinks by then. I will explore the 43 today and aim to review the 44 soon for a thorough tasting. Nose: The aroma is very intense. Maple and vanilla are present, typical of Canadian whisky but amplified significantly. There's also brown sugar and caramel, creating a candy shop impression. I detect a hint of coconut and a Bounty bar, along with some cinnamon toast. Palate: This is immediately very rich. However, oak and leather quickly emerge, followed by spice notes of black pepper and cinnamon. This is considerably spicier than the nose indicated. Finish: Long and tingly on the sides and back of the tongue, as well as the rear palate. Some burnt caramel and cinnamon are also present. Overall, this is outstanding. The primary theme is sugar and spice, which are balanced exceptionally well. I feel fortunate to have received this special bottle and am eager to try the 44!

I opened this bottle to mark the end of this difficult period! I hope my haste was justified. As anticipated, it's smooth and rich, without being woody or overpowering. Clearly discernible are ripe red fruits, vanilla, cinnamon, and a subtle sweetness... We thoroughly enjoyed this pour of 43-year-old whisky... an amazing value.
Very reminiscent of bourbon. Rich. Smooth. Fills the mouth. 4.5/5 Excellent value for its retail price of around $299. Considering it's a 43-year-old whiskey, the price is very reasonable. A worthwhile purchase. A top-tier spirit. Outstanding on its own.
It's quite mellow overall. A consistent vanilla and maple character runs from the scent through to the end. It's not remarkable but I can't fault it.
Mellow, intricate, and very easy to consume. Flavors of orchard and dark fruits, with toffee and spicy notes that integrate perfectly with the oak.
