To supplement their income, Pedro Schimitt Junior established a still for crafting artisanal cachaça, achieving unexpected success. He honed his skills and passed his knowledge to his son, José Francisco Schmitt, who in turn instructed his own children and grandchildren. In 1998, Carlos Rogerio Schimitt launched a new family store, now the site of Cachaçaria Moendão, fully certified and regulated. Years of artisanal production experience, now in its fourth generation, have earned this cachaça numerous awards and the appreciation of discerning consumers.
