Cooperstown Doubleday Bourbon

New, sourced bourbon. Quite bland; tasting of corn and hay. A lingering aftertaste I dislike. The bottle itself is the main attraction--especially for sports enthusiasts. It perfectly replicates a baseball, complete with the 108 stitches of a regulation Major League ball. The base resembles a baseball diamond, and the cork is made from ash, like a baseball bat. The spirit is overshadowed by the container, but I keep it as a decorative piece and conversation starter.

Nose: Resembles crushed, dry corn kernels, hay, and arid farm dust – essentially a pleasant barnyard aroma. Palate: Predominantly corn, with spice, pepper, cinnamon, and oatmeal; lacking sweetness. Finish: A warming sensation from within.

A very gentle and smooth flavor. Improved as I consumed it. My initial expectations might have been too high. It's not my top choice, but I would consider trying it again.

Not good. Diluted, very vegetal. Unsuitable even for cocktails. Kept the bottle, however; it's quite attractive.

A bit sharp, a touch sweet, and clearly young. It certainly looks good on the bar.

Feels very young, with an almost grainy flavor. The bottle itself looks cool, though.
