Adeline Craig 3.3

Color: Medium Copper-Amber Nose: Tastes like Cinnamon Red Hots candy; molasses or maple. Palate: (Consumed with a large ice ball) Oak tannins are prominent from the start, followed by a significant warmth (for only 100 proof). Spicy and somewhat sweet. Very oaky... causes a tingling sensation on the tongue. This strongly resembles some Old Forester expressions I've had. Peculiar. It's bottled by Barton 1792 — I've also had several of theirs... so, perhaps it's actually those that it reminds me of. Having a second pour to see if anything else emerges... Nope! The second pour is identical to the first. Baked spices and oak are the primary characteristics here. Finish: Medium duration, slightly drying, with spice and oak notes. Final Thoughts: This is a respectable sipper for its cost — I actually paid $10 less than the indicated price due to a special weekend promotion at my local store. I would classify this as, "Bourbon that gets the job done at a good price." Nothing extraordinary, but one I would purchase again — at the very least, drink again. 3.25 stars.
