Many people recommended the Collective Arts gin, so when I found a temporary bottle shop nearby, my curiosity got the better of me, and I purchased their Plum & Blackthorn (+15 botanicals) gin. I also have trouble resisting strikingly colored gins, so it was an easy decision. The nose offers a beautiful display of balanced, unusual aromas, all tied together with a slightly plum-like base. With such a complex combination of spices, where spirit flavors could easily go wrong, this one succeeds. Its spicy mouthfeel is reminiscent of a good masala chai, providing a unique yet comforting warmth for a gin. Despite a minor heat, this gin is incredibly smooth. Extra credit for the eye-catching bottle design and lavender hue. I'm eager to try their other gins. 8.5/10
