The aroma features cocoa, caramel candy, and cigar leaf. It's rather fiery, finishing like the morning after puffing on cigars. My rating system is outlined below. The distillery uses a 5-point scale, while I use a 10-point scale. However, I trust you're sober enough to figure that out! 1. Awful - So terrible I discarded it. 2. Unpleasant - I would avoid drinking this. 3. Flawed - Possesses several deficiencies. 4. Subpar - Not terrible, but I have many preferred options. 5. Acceptable - Merely average. 6. Decent - Superior to average. 7. Impressive - Significantly above average. 8. Outstanding - In a class by itself. 9. Amazing - A personal best. 10. Flawless

It's acceptable. It bears some resemblance to Smoke Wagon Small Batch, but with a higher proof. It has less char than the Smoke Wagon, but is otherwise dominated by oak, barrel, and char. I don't rate it as negatively as the previous reviewer, but I do concur with the cigar comparison. Perhaps I would have enjoyed this more with ice, but I don't typically use ice, and I only had a single serving. It certainly could have benefited from a bit more sweetness and body, as I only detected a faint hint of brown sugar, caramel, and toffee. Low burn, low spice characteristics.

This is a step up from their regular bourbon. A fantastic choice for mixing with ginger ale. You just need to be mindful of the alcohol content. 😀. Batch 14-0058. Bottle 66.

I was hoping for a bit more brown sugar/sweetness but it's definitely solid!
