Cimarrón Blanco Tequila

Score: 17/23 Nose: Strong, rich, and savory. A peculiar cheese note similar to La Luna Cupreata. Touches of citrus. It's quite an experience, but enjoyable. Palate: Wow! This is fantastic! It's sweet, yet earthy and captivating with a smooth finish. The cheesy notes are present but much less intense than the aroma suggested. A subtle spicy tingle at the very end. The sweetness is primarily from agave. A hint of tart lime zest. Perhaps some very faint yellow peach tones? There's a great deal of intriguing character that manages to be both engaging and luxurious. Finish: Lasting richness with that savory cheese and hints of tart cooked lime zest. Prominent agave notes remain as well. - Summary - This is truly excellent! A surprisingly great value tequila. It's comparable to Fortaleza. While not quite at that level, it offers wonderful complexity that melds beautifully. It's perfect for drinking straight or in cocktails. I'd estimate it around a 16, though it could be higher. A 15 seems too low. Compared directly, it's less robust than Fortaleza Blanco Still Strength (17/23), but it's sweeter with more pronounced flavors and character. It falls somewhere between that and La Luna Cupreata (16/23). This one, however, is sweeter. In conclusion, this tequila leans sweet and is incredibly smooth, boasting ample luxurious depth. I'm leaning towards a 17 now. An 18 is even a possibility. What a discovery!

Consumed neat. The nose is dominated by agave with earthy, vegetal, black pepper, and slight citrus notes. The taste mirrors the nose with fruity agave, earth, black pepper, vegetal notes, and a hint of mint towards the finish, which is moderate and dry with some sweetness and earthiness. While not the most complex, it's a solid blanco without additives. The price for a 1L bottle of this quality is excellent. A top-notch mixer for even basic cocktails.

I'm a big fan of this tequila. It's a greatly overlooked spirit and usually tough to find. It's available in 1-liter bottles. I enjoy sipping this tequila and using it in mixed drinks. It's light, fruity, crisp, and clean tasting. It's very affordably priced, which I suspect leads many people to overlook it. The blanco version is superior to the reposado, in my opinion.

Offers notes of grass and light vegetables with a touch of sweetness. The flavor hits the front of your palate and then vanishes fast, leaving no alcohol sting. It has a delicate body and a subdued taste. I cannot fully grasp the hype, perhaps it is the value or the story behind it. It works well as a mixer, and might be suitable for casual drinkers who prefer simplicity.

This is the benchmark for blancos. Drank straight. Pure excellence. I'm unsure how they achieve this while others fall short, but it's genuine. If you appreciate this style, this easily surpasses Clooney tequila and other ultra-premiums with little effort. Outstanding.
