Chestnut Farms Bourbon

It's not the most intricate bourbon available, but it's easy to drink. I wouldn't repurchase it at the price I paid. I bought it during a sale after hearing it was a budget alternative to Eagle Rare. Ha! Nose: vanilla, with a hint of pencil shavings. Palate: offers light caramel, shifting to spice. Finish: fairly long, with fading spice. Mouthfeel: slightly oily. I'm uncertain of its place. It lacks the complexity for a quality neat drink, yet is too expensive for mixing (though one could use it as a mixer, better and cheaper options exist). The bottle label states "From Barton 1792," but also "Distilled, aged and bottled by the Clear Springs Distiing Co., Louisville, KY,"...so what's the deal?

Nose: cinnamon (perhaps Red Hots), peanut, vanilla, honey, marshmallow, cherry. Similar to Smoke Wagon Small Batch. A bit hotter than its stated proof would suggest. Good spirit. I utilize the rating system below. The distiller uses a scale of 5, and I use a scale of 10, but I'm sure you're not too intoxicated to figure that out! 1. Disgusting - So bad I poured it out. 2. Poor - I wouldn't consume by choice. 3. Bad - Multiple flaws. 4. Below average - Not bad, but many things I'd rather have. 5. Good - Just average. 6. Very Good - Better than average. 7. Great - Well above average. 8. Excellent - In a league of its own. 9. Incredible - An all-time favorite. 10. Perfect

A bold Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey from Clear Springs Distillery, located in Kentucky and crafted with limestone water free of iron, alongside corn, rye, and malted barley. It begins with a rich profile featuring hints of caramel and banana, evolving into a complex character with notes of oak, spice, and clove, culminating in a refined and smooth finish. Nose - abundant cherry, chewy caramel Taste - cherry candy, earthy funk, a faint nuttiness, and creamy vanilla Finish - light, cherry vanilla and spice linger briefly This is a pleasant drink but certainly carries a high price tag. It has classic bourbon characteristics and cherry notes reminiscent of BT. All things considered, a nice option at 90 proof.

Fruity, warming aroma. Very smooth, with a mild burn on the palate. A thick, warm mouthfeel. Glides down easily. Fruity notes return in the finish. Hints of vanilla, caramel, butterscotch. It certainly holds its own against whiskies in the 85-100 dollar price range for considerably less. Superior to Blanton's

This is essentially 1792 with a different label. I'm not giving a separate review because tasting it alongside 1792 BIB and 1792 Small batch was like drinking from three identical bottles, and the store-brand version is overpriced for what it offers.
