Catto's Rare Old Scottish

It improved noticeably after the bottle was about half consumed over a couple of weeks. I typically keep a large bottle of blended scotch to help me reserve the finer spirits. This one is just adequate, and I won't repurchase it. It's not terrible, just not very good; it lacks sweetness, bitterness, smokiness, and nothing truly stands out. My usual choices for affordable blends are Ballantine's or Whyte & Mackay, but I do enjoy sampling new things. I purchased this and was immediately let down. I'll return to my usual selections for my next bottle.

Seriously, it smells like a latex condom full of malt. The taste is malt, barley, wheat, grass, oats, and maybe some milkweed. None of which seem ready for harvest. The finish? There's no finish at all. Incredibly disappointing!!

Pleasant aroma, interesting flavors on the palate, and a smooth, medium finish with a slight peatiness.

Sweet blend. Lacks depth, however. Notes of orange peel in the finish. A solid choice for the price!
