About this bottle

Casa Dragones Barrel Blend is an añejo tequila crafted from 100% Blue Weber agave sourced from the Tequila Valley. The brand employs two distinct types of custom-made toasted oak barrels for aging: new French oak and new American oak. Following maturation in each barrel type, the tequila is combined and then bottled at 80 proof in a distinctive smoked grey glass.

My cousin recommended this at his new restaurant. I thought it was just okay. It had pleasant floral and barrel notes of caramel, cinnamon, pepper, vanilla, and pineapple, along with faint cooked agave undertones. However, I felt cake batter and other additives masked bitter notes.

The nose is intriguing—grassy with notes of hay, agave, and some mint; not as flavorful as I'd expect for the price—vegetal and grassy with plenty of oak, some agave, and a little vanilla; fairly dry; nice thick texture; mild heat; quick finish with some agave and oak; good, but not worth the cost ($150).

Shania Layne 4.0

Extremely smooth with upfront spice, delicate floral notes, and just enough bite to be noticeable. Quite enjoyable, but it lacks the fullness or roundness in flavor I'd anticipate for its cost.

Keaton Chester 4.3

Tequila is typically my least preferred spirit, but I tried this based on a recommendation and I'm extremely pleased I did, as it's exceptionally good.

Andrew Sun 4.3

Lovely and smooth, with notes of mellow corn and oak. Very minimal burn on the nose and palate.

The finest Anejo Tequila I have ever had. Incredibly SMOOTH.. An easy sipper with great flavor.
