Carlyle Blended Scotch Whisky

The aroma immediately hits with a powerful, paint-like fume (likely from the alcohol) that shifts to a perfume-like essence. It's a bit off-putting at first, but it mellows after a few minutes. Malty notes emerge, along with brown sugar, floral hints, and some fruit, but it's not overly intricate. The taste is better than the smell, with malt and some fruits that disappear fast, spices (unidentifiable), woody barrel notes, a little bitterness, and a light char and pepper finish that doesn't last long. It's acceptable, and for the cost, it's quite decent. It works well in a highball or mixed with ginger ale. Give it a shot; you might be surprised. It's a low-risk option given its affordability.

I'm just starting with Scotch, but this is by far the top cheap ($22 per handle!) Scotch I've tasted. It's much better to me than J&B or Dewars. It's not very complex, but it's easy to drink - no smoke or peat, sweet but not sickeningly so, and a little spicy. For those who prefer Bourbon and Irish Whiskey, this is a good, affordable way to start with Scotch.

A premium Blended Scotch crafted from well-aged spirits. I did not have high hopes for this whisky at $13 a bottle. However, it was a very pleasant surprise. A very smooth whisky, similar to Dalmore. Oaky, buttery, honey, and very floral on the nose. For $13 a bottle, it's an excellent value.

An appealing fruity aroma leads to more fruit, honey, and some grassy notes on the palate. One of the finest affordable blends I've encountered. Exceeds expectations for its category. Very good.

Excellent value for the cost. I purchased it for $23 per handle at my local Total Wine during the quarantine and am quite pleased with it.
