It's smooth and drinks more like a whiskey than a brandy, but lacks complexity. The label indicates it's blended with a significant amount of neutral grain spirits, comparable to a very common brand. It works very well as a mixer for most cocktails that call for applejack and could substitute for whiskey in drinks like an old fashioned or sour, or even mixed with cola, ginger ale, or lemon-lime soda. However, it's a mediocre sipper at best. Unfortunately, it's basically the only applejack consistently available in my area.
