About this bottle

This bottling was created to celebrate the 2024 Fèis Ile festival. The spirit, distilled in 1999, was matured in three types of sherry casks: amontillado, oloroso, and manzanilla. Master Blender Julieann Fernandez crafted this unpeated single malt, which was aged a minimum of 23 years. It is bottled at cask strength, measuring 106.6 proof (53.3% ABV). Distribution in the US is scheduled for early June 2024. (SRP $713.99)

Bunnahabhain offered several expressions for Feis Ile 2024, including this intriguing Triple Sherry Wood Finish. This 23-year-old dram, bottled at 53.3% ABV, is one of only 4002 bottles. The nose is perfect, with notes of roasted coffee beans, hot cocoa, humid wood, and oranges. The palate is a blend of cherries and chocolate, with an 'ice creamy' texture and magnificent chocolate and orange flavors. The aftertaste is pleasant but could be improved, offering a dry sherry red fruit finish and hot syrup. Overall, it's a very elegant and enjoyable dram, though it feels quite expensive compared to other expressions from the same festival. My rating is 95 out of 100.

I must admit, it's not the sherry bomb I anticipated, which I found disappointing given the price point. On its own, it's a good dram, but Bunna offers many superior sherry expressions in my view.
