Review #245 Received a sample from a friend. Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Dark amber. Very promising. Nose: Root beer with apple and dark fruit notes. Palate: Thick mouthfeel with cinnamon, baking spice, and some oak tannins. Finish: Medium length with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 7/10 - The color and nose got my hopes up. This is good bourbon from a craft distillery, but it doesn't do anything to distinguish itself from other good bourbon from other craft distilleries. I'm interested to try other expressions from Bully Boy in the future.

The aroma is strongly reminiscent of dry wheat or barley in the glass. It's very potent and quite pleasant. The flavor is a powerful echo of the aroma, with dry wheat bordering on bitterness. It's earthy, woody, with a medium-thin body, comparable to chewing on a wheat field. Significantly better than their American whiskey, but slightly unbalanced for full enjoyment.
I can detect the corn and wheat in this; it's beautifully crafted.
