About this bottle

Bruichladdich presents The Laddie Rye, a limited edition Scotch whisky. Although technically a Single Grain Scotch Whisky from Islay, its mash bill consists of Islay-grown rye and malting barley, all cultivated within 11 miles of the distillery. This whisky matured for 7 years in a blend of first-fill bourbon barrels and first-fill virgin American oak barrels that were toasted. It is presented at 50% ABV without chill-filtration or added color. The Laddie Rye is exclusively for the US market and will see limited availability starting November 2025, with a suggested retail price of $59.99.

Eden Mcneill 4.3

Nose: Abundant citrus mingled with spices. Hints of anise and pine emerge, alongside a saline ocean quality contrasted by darker sugars. Palate: More citrus, notably lemon and orange zest. Baking spices are present. The dark sugars from the nose translate to a confectionary sweetness. Fig is detectable with a slight bitterness. Finish: Clove is prominent. A touch of black pepper and brininess. The bitter notes persist, shifting to floral notes in the latter part. Overall: Truly quite superb. Worth the cost, and I plan to purchase at least two more bottles.
