Sampled at a whiskey bar. One of the more intricate bourbons. The nose has the sourness of stout beer, with citrus, chocolate, and leather. The palate is a decadent sweet treat of salted dark chocolate, caramel, oranges, leather, and earth. This spirit has depth. The finish is long and full with citrus and bitter dark chocolate. I'll have to find a bottle to explore further.

This has a brief, dry conclusion. Hints of dark caramel and apple juice. Feels a bit diluted initially. Didn't leave much of an impact on me. It will probably taste better with meat; I usually just use one ice cube. The cask strength gives it a bit of a punch.
Heavy vanilla on the aroma, with a whisper of almond. The initial taste brings chocolate (different from the aroma) and pine nuts. Adding ice enhances the chocolate and introduces some char. It's not hot or powerful for its high proof. I enjoy this and suggest it if you can locate it.
The nose has a touch of raisins, while the palate is a chocolate explosion. I've always enjoyed bourbon barrel beers, and I certainly appreciate this reverse approach!
Burns with a strong ethanol taste. Ice does not alter the flavor as it does with most spirits.
