Bradshaw Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Re-tasting: The nose offers mint, fruity candy (Runts), some vanilla, and toasted oak. The flavor mirrors the aroma. There are certainly some youthful characteristics, but they aren't unpleasant, leaning more towards green apple, hay, and corn flakes. The finish is quick but provides a pleasant warmth in the back of your throat. Overall, very enjoyable. I appreciate the narrative. Either the bourbon has evolved or my palate has shifted since the initial release tasting.

I was pleasantly surprised with this celebrity Bourbon. This isn’t just a novelty, it’s a decent proof at a fair price that drinks easy. I found the nose to have some dark fruit aroma, perhaps even plum. The flavor brings plenty of vanilla with some barrel & baking spice in the finish. There is only minimal heat at the end and it does not drink like a 100+ proof.

A respectable young bourbon. It possesses a slight bite but delivers prominent notes of dusty peanut and citrus. Adding some water would mellow the burn. A few more years maturing in the barrel would have been fascinating, potentially reaching the level of another well-known brand. The brand's acquisition by another company means its future bottling is uncertain.

I'll have to save this for mixed drinks, which I don't do. This has nothing much going on. I can think of at least a half a dozen $20 and under selections that I would rather drink than this one. In my opinion, it's not much better than some white dog. And as always, had it neat.

Quite dull, weak, and uninteresting. It felt more like a novelty than a quality spirit (referencing Terry Bradshaw's career pass completion rate of 51.9% matching the 51.9% ABV, etc.). It could have used an age statement of 12 years, like his jersey number.

Upon a second tasting, my appreciation has decreased slightly. It does feature a delightful peanut-caramel taste (reminiscent of a candy bar?) However, it's less smooth than I recalled, with a noticeable ethanol sting.
