This bourbon is quite a letdown. The description mentioned a young bourbon diluted to 90 proof and then returned to barrels for further aging. The notion of it absorbing more flavor from increased contact with new barrels seemed promising. The scent is reminiscent of a campfire, with an unpleasant tingling sensation in the nose. The taste is similarly unimpressive. It begins very acrid, leaving a burnt aftertaste on the palate. As one drinks more, the bitterness subsides, giving way to a subtle caramel note. This is likely suitable only for mixing, definitely not worth the $30 I spent on the concept.

This is a decent bourbon if you prefer less intense flavors. It has a moderately sweet taste that goes down easily with a smooth finish. I will likely purchase this again. It's perfectly enjoyable neat or on ice. If used in a mixed drink, the whiskey would likely be barely noticeable.
This bourbon is acceptable, but not exceptional. It has a grainy character and is quite unrefined. It's certainly drinkable, though not one I frequently choose. It's unfortunate considering it belongs to a relative, and one wouldn't want to criticize it directly.
Somewhat rough. I used it in Manhattans. A relative gave this to me after a distillery visit.
