Domingo Hubert 3.0

This straight bourbon whiskey from Boundary Oak Distillery, acquired in 2020, has been aged for a minimum of two years and is presented at barrel proof, measuring 118. The nose reveals notes of vanilla, sugar cookie, and spice. The palate begins with vanilla and cereal, quickly followed by an intense wave of heat and spice, characteristic of its 59% ABV. The finish is short to medium, offering a sweet and spicy lingering sensation on the tongue with some oak tannins appearing on subsequent sips. Despite its two-year age, the barrel-proof strength masks its youth, making it a satisfactory choice for those who appreciate robust bourbons.

Jeanie Garner 4.3

Bottled cask strength at 115°, this straight bourbon is three years old. The color is a deep rich copper, and you'd struggle to tell it's less than 6 years old based on its color, taste, or aroma. It presents itself from the glass with an ease that belies its high proof. Immediate notes of vanilla, caramel, light rye spice, corn syrup, and oak on the nose. The taste includes fig, cereal, toasted corn, and oak. The finish is pleasantly warm, though not as intense as I'd anticipate from the proof, and has some oak tannin I didn't expect either. This is one I'll be looking for again. My bottle also bears a hand-signed signature from Master Distiller Brent Goodin.
