Received a bottle as a gift from a person before his wedding rehearsal dinner. It smells like a new box of chocolates. The taste is deep and I'm unsure how to describe it, so I'll let this review explain: "Inviting notes of oak and vanilla are complemented by a touch of black cherry. The palate is deep and intricate, beginning with ample oak integrated with vanilla, followed by dry espresso and a cayenne warmth. Adding water mellows the heat, bringing forth more vanilla and black cherry."

Barrel #87 - Aged 53 months - Purchased at Woodman's Supermarket. A gift from a friend at his rehearsal dinner. 93.82 proof, 46.91% alcohol. The aroma is pleasant - lots of corn and body - even hints of cornbread. The taste is somewhat muted - corn but not much character. A bit difficult to drink, perhaps a touch of rye/pepper

Nose: sweet corn, nutty, ethanol, caramel Palate: caramel, buttery, butterscotch, corny, peanut Finish: short caramel, light spice on the back end Not artificial tasting, which is a positive

Rickey Quinlan 3.0

hints of vanilla and caramel, subtle oak flavor, finishes with a kick and lacks much other spice or unique character

Alaina Mccloskey 3.8

Decent, but this bourbon isn't outstanding for the price. I appreciate it because it's local.

Not bad. Vanilla and caramel notes are present, but there's a somewhat unexpected sharpness to it.
