Bondstone Bourbon Toasted Barrel

The aroma has hints of apple, significant oak, and pepper, along with a touch of bitter caramel. The flavor profile isn't entirely appealing to me. It started with a subtle fruit note that quickly vanished. Heavy on the oak. It leans towards nutty flavors with a slight burn towards the end, feeling hotter than its stated proof. It's an acceptable bottle; some flavors work reasonably well together, but it's quite average overall.

A robust, High Rye Bourbon from IJW Whiskey, created with a mix of Kentucky Bourbons aged at least 4 years in toasted & charred American oak barrels, then bottled at 45% ABV. It starts aromatically with hints of grain, wood & spices; while a rich profile adds notes of toasted rye crackers & caramel; leading to a burnt caramel finish of moderate duration. Bondstone Whiskey Co. has excelled itself. While I'm a big admirer of the Double Oak, the Toasted version is now a personal favorite. It features a caramel nose, complex toasted oak flavors with a hint of spice, and a smooth finish... exceptionally well-crafted!

This is simply fantastic! Currently, it's my preferred bourbon. Black walnut on the palate with an enduring finish!

This strikes me as superior to their double oak offering. It presents with notes of char and toast, complemented by hints of caramel and a more substantial mouthfeel.

It's acceptable once diluted with ice. Substantial spice but flavor is wanting.
