Blackland Bourbon Whiskey

I'd noticed this bottle frequently at my local liquor store but hadn't purchased it until this past weekend. My initial experience with the brand was with their gin, which was quite good and presented in an attractive bottle suitable for use as a decanter. The website offers limited information; it's a blend of bourbons. The nose is subtle, with notes of vanilla, caramel, and hints of sweet corn – a first for me in a whiskey. The body exceeded my expectations for a low-proof whiskey, offering nice vanilla sweetness. The finish is longer than anticipated, which is a positive attribute. It performs well in cocktails like the Old Fashioned and whiskey and coke. Overall, this is a pleasant whiskey that's difficult to find in my region, but I believe it's worth trying. Enjoy.

A bit light and missing bolder notes. It's still a pleasant local Texas sipping bourbon. I suggest using it for Old Fashions instead of sipping straight. A friend took the empty bottle and repurposed it as a flower vase, which is a nice bonus.

Oak notes are present with a touch of spice and a hint of sweetness. The mouthfeel is a bit thin, but it's an enjoyable and pleasant sipper nonetheless.

It tastes good and feels smooth, like silk, but it doesn't quite reach the heights of the Blackland Rye.

Thin and light, as others have said. It does have a pleasant spice.
