The Black Dirt distillery is an offshoot of the owners of American Fruits and Warwick Gin in upstate NY. It derives its name from the rich soil deposited by an ancient glacial lake in the region. Batch #5 features 80% Black Dirt grown corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye. It is matured in new, charred American oak barrels with a char level of 3.

This is an outstanding bourbon, absolutely worth trying and acquiring for your collection. Its rich sweet corn and oak flavors appear to meld flawlessly, making this New York Straight Bourbon a formidable contender. It offers a long, resonant, and highly enjoyable finish that provides significant satisfaction.

The oak is very strong initially. I enjoyed it at first, but after a few drinks, my opinion has changed.
The description is accurate. It has a strong flavor and holds up well with ice.
