When tasted neat, it evoked a weaker version of black velvet or Canadian club. It tastes bland and watery, with a corresponding mouthfeel. The aroma lacks distinction, offering typical caramel, brown sugar, and grain notes. It functions adequately as a mixer, provided you don't require the whiskey to be the primary flavor. It's acceptable in a manhattan, and passable in a drink like a paper plane. In that regard, it's comparable to any bottom-shelf whiskey. I received this as a gift, and I'm thankful for that, as I would have been quite disappointed had I paid for it.
