This whiskey has an almost orange hue. On the nose, there are some berry and sherry notes. The palate offers orange zest and cardamom, transitioning to a sweet apple crisp as it warms. The finish is spicy, with more cinnamon, cardamom, and pepper. The high alcohol content gives this whiskey a luxurious texture and a reserved character that is engaging. Adding a small amount of water reveals more berry fruit on the nose and tart apples on the palate, with a hint of milk chocolate in the finish. I appreciate a rich dram and enjoy how this whiskey displays its diverse characteristics. It evolves as you savor it. Black Bottle is consistently a great value and offers surprisingly high quality.

The aroma was excellent, smelling of freshly brewed black tea. The taste mirrored the black tea with a citrus element. The finish was pleasantly warm and smooth. Quite enjoyable.
Noticeably more aromatic and intricate than its standard counterpart (which is stronger) - the finest screw-top blend I've encountered - well worth a bit more money if you come across it.
2022-12-01 First bottle in this year Christmas calendar. Good start, sweet taste, good body, scent of apple, not Smokey.
Remains one of my preferred whiskies, particularly given its price point. Delicious!
Hints of apple, raisin, and chocolate, with a thick, creamy texture, warming sensation, and notes of molasses and cherry.
