The smell is strong and a bit intense on the first whiff with a grape, red-wine like scent and it's a bit more vinegary-bitter than sweet, also has a hint of spearmint mouthwash. The taste is a bit milder than the smell and what first stands out to me is a light vanilla note followed again by that bitter, grapey note with a touch of a woody flavor. The bitterness does linger somewhat after the sip. I do enjoy the texture, it's a bit oily and smooth going down. For a local, craft distillery this is not a bad choice and I love the logo as I'm a Philly native and a fan of the Eagles. GO BIRDS!!!
