Benjamin Chapman Alcohol: 45%, age: at least 7 years Imported and then bottled in Indio, CA by 3 badge beverage. A blend of 51% ten-year-old Canadian rye (pot still) aged in charred white oak, and 49% seven-year-old Canadian prairie wheat (triple column still) aged in American oak. Aroma: fruity, candy/butterscotch, some spice, vanilla, cinnamon, no off notes Taste: Mild to moderate spice, significantly more spice neat. Very grainy, slightly sweet, a bit oaky in the finish/aftertaste. Becomes a bit sweeter with time. After a while longer, the taste becomes more one-dimensional and less appealing. Medium body, very smooth. Overall, it was an average/somewhat decent whisky. Cost: $36.99 plus tax for a 750 ml bottle Grade: C+/B-

NOSE Vanilla taffy, spice, dark sweetness, copper, herbaceous, citrus, nuts, and baking spice with a subtle Play-Doh undertone. Enjoyable. A mild fruitiness emerges as it airs out, but it doesn't alter the fundamental profile. PALATE Grassy grain, toffee, baking spice, herbaceous, vanilla, with a touch of candied ginger. This palate will be quite polarizing, but it certainly stands out in the market. FINISH Medium length, fading from grassy notes (like corn husks), toffee, and vanilla bean to a grassy candied ginger.

The nose is delicate and intricate, with maple, vanilla, and cocoa. Maybe a hint of cardamom, too. It has a richer texture than the 4-year Corn, resting on the back-middle of the palate. It's warm and mellow, unfolding nicely even without water. The palate leans towards fall spices and grains. The finish features prolonged notes of seasoned oak.

Subtle spices, vanilla, caramel, and maple on the nose. A velvety entry on the palate with light notes of cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, and creme brulee. The finish is brief with light caramel and baking spices. A light, enjoyable sipper, but ultimately forgettable.

Nose: Vanilla with a soft sugary scent (almost like a sugar cookie), maple. Taste: Vanilla, light spices, mild heat, a pleasant lingering finish, with a sweet, cinnamon-like note I can't quite identify.

It's an adequate whiskey, but somewhat lacking. The aroma has a hint of sugar cookie, along with an unpleasant cleaner note. It possesses a dark sweetness, perhaps tasting like snickerdoodle or molasses.
