Nose: Sweet woody maple, peppery, marzipan, and cherry (not sherry.) Some sweet aged pipe tobacco. Palate: Rye spice, sweet and musty tree sap. A very pleasant mouthfeel and good intensity. The port wood is prominent. A slight hint of spearmint if held in the mouth a bit longer. Finish: Dry tannins, leather, a unique rubber/plastic note in a good way. Possibly cedar wood. I'd say a medium to long finish. This might be my new favorite alongside Rittenhouse. No hints of dill pickles.. I will repurchase.
