This is a winemaker's first attempt at a whisky after many years of winemaking. Color is auburn. Nose has notes of caramel and vanilla. Palate has more of the same. Not the smoothest whisky I’ve had, but too nice to use as a mixer. A nice chunk of ice and a bit of time calms it down. A decent sipper.
