The aroma is full of almonds, tannins, grape juice, and raspberry. The body has butter and red wine flavors. It feels grainy, and the sweetness reminds me of a Speyside. It's also extremely dry! The signature sweetness from this brand is present for flavor but absent in the mouthfeel. Strange. It's not great. The finish strongly emphasizes the almond. I taste sangria and cherry cough syrup. For the record: I despise this brand. This isn't great, but it's a significant improvement. So... I would never purchase this again, as there are superior red wine finishes in this price range from other makers. However, if I had to choose between this and the standard version, this one is much better, and I'm truly surprised by what they achieved here. This one is drinkable. Happy New Years!!!

On the nose: hints of citrus mixed with brown sugar and honey. On the palate: Wow, it tastes like red wine! It's quite distinctive, with the flavor of a Cabernet but the texture of a whiskey. I must admit, at times it tastes a bit too much like red wine, but it's very tasty. The finish: Dark cherries and a touch of citrus. Overall: It's quite smooth, and as someone who enjoys red wine, I really like this one!

I gave this a couple of evenings to try it for a fair review. So here are my thoughts. On the nose: Strawberry with hints of Orange Palate: Extremely weak and not much to discern in the taste. Finish: Doesn't really finish well and has a peculiar tangy taste. Overall, I'm not really a fan of this bottle. I've heard mixed reviews about Basil Hayden, but as someone who enjoys fruit and floral whiskeys, I definitely did not like this one.

Just tried a delicious pour of a certain brand's Red Wine Cask Finish Bourbon. Wow, a tremendous expression on the finish, with solid transformation through notes from mint, caramel, wood spice and bright red fruit to a slight drying finish. Can’t wait to get a few bottles for myself. I highly recommend getting your paws on this. Very tasty.

Incredibly smooth throughout, with almost no heat but not flat. Red wine notes are present in the flavor, with slightly more pronounced notes at the front, very little in the middle besides the red wine taste, and a slight fruit note at the end.

This is among the worst whiskeys I've ever encountered. I consider myself knowledgeable about whiskey with a refined palate. The dominant flavors are like scented soap or a scented candle. It has an odd metallic taste. It's unlike anything else I've tried, in the worst possible way. This should be removed from the market immediately.
