Antiquary Red Label

As a budget blended Scotch, and the least expensive of the Antiquary range, it's not bad at all. It's a very typical whisky that fulfills its purpose: appealing to a broad audience who enjoys whisky without necessarily intending to write a detailed review. Bottled at 40% ABV with a very pale, light straw color, suggesting no artificial coloring was used. I appreciate that in a blend. The nose is quite decent. Notes of cake, cereal, custard cream, pears, subtle chocolate, and faint orange peel. After the first taste: the grain whisky becomes apparent, easily detectable. On the palate, it's acceptable. Flavors of vanilla, pepper, apples, and honey. Very standard. The aftertaste is not particularly good. Notes of grain whisky, maize, and cereal. Overall, this is a 72/100 whisky, and I believe that's a fair assessment. For the price, it's not bad and could serve as a mixer.

The value for money is outstanding. Very fruity and light. Suitable for beginners. A truly excellent price for this whisky.
