For Peat's Sake Blended Scotch Whisky (Angus Dundee)

First, I have a preference for this blend because it comes from a small scotch blending company. Second, it's an easily obtainable blend for both price and availability through wine and spirit shops. The drawback is that the origin of the whisky is nearly unknown. However, the packaging is somewhat attractive. The name “For Peat’s Sake” is intriguing, and the label brings to mind Scottish visuals. It will stand out on the shelf. Now, the aroma is typical of a scotch blend that's heavy on Speyside whisky. It leads with honey/butterscotch. The peat smoke shares the same space as the other scents. It's not an Islay, but the peat smoke is pleasant. The taste matches the aroma. That's good because it's not misleading at all. The honey and malt taste appear first, followed by the delicious peat flavor. The peat flavor is smoky, similar to barbecue. The finish is like eating St. Louis bbq ribs. It leaves a pleasant smoky and honey aftertaste. In summary, this whisky is a good value. It's suitable for daily sipping. It could also be used for mixing and sharing without hesitation. It pairs well with smoky meats and burgers. I endorse it for its smoky character and the price. If you can find “For Peat’s Sake”, grab the bottle. You won't be disappointed.

A strong peat aroma on the nose, evoking images of BBQs and the scent of clothes after camping... with an unidentifiable note beneath the smoke. Sweet cardamom, vanilla, and pepper on the palate give way to a smoky and slightly bitter finish. Quite good for a blended whiskey at this price point. The peat intensity was not as high as some other Islay whiskies I've tried. -1 star: The peat aroma diminished significantly after the first day. It was best when freshly opened and does not maintain its character well.

This is a blended Scotch whisky, characterized by intense smoke and peat, with a full-bodied, earthy flavor. The nose is very smoky, but this intensity doesn't carry through to the palate. It's most comparable to The Famous Grouse Smoky Black.

There's a generic peat flavor, but very little else. It's thin, with such a subtle taste and aroma that it's almost like drinking peated vodka. I purchased this due to its very low price and will not buy it again. Other budget peated Scotches are significantly better.

Smoke, sweet, slightly sharp and rushed, yet very mild! Quite average, not particularly remarkable, but definitely not bad for what it is. Given the price and nature, highly drinkable. I won't repurchase, solely because it lacks interest. No excitement found.

Heavy on the peat (as stated on the label), But not in any way sharp or course, to my palate. Rich and straight to the point without any frills. Perhaps a bit lacking in sophistication, but I really enjoy it, especially at this price.
