Ansley Royal 4.5

Amrut really cranks it up for this premium, upgraded edition of its signature Fusion single malt. Following the previous year's X release for the product's 10th anniversary, which established India in the whisky scene, the XI incorporates spirits aged between seven and 11 years. A wide array of cask types are utilized, with the oldest component being peated and aged in a port cask. This diversity results in a layered spirit. Whereas the X featured orange notes, the XI presents an aroma of green mango, raisins, cocoa bits, and marzipan. The taste begins smooth on the palate, evolving into mild spice, citrus peel, sour fruit, and rich syrup. The conclusion lingers like a long performance - dry notes of cocoa and leaf dominate, concluding with a sweet chocolate fade. This is a superb tribute to Amrut and definitely worth experiencing if you have the chance. Just be cautious with the bottle - many intended for the US market were damaged before filling.
