Juliet Mortensen 3.8

Color: Pale gold. Smell: Meadow flowers, a barn filled with fragrant hay. Taste & Texture: Sweet arrival with earthy spice and herb flavors. There's a little heat and a peppery note. The texture is full but not sticky and it has a very warming quality. The hay taste lingers for a long time. I haven't tasted a hay liqueur before, but this certainly meets expectations positively. It smells and tastes grassy, but not with a bright chlorophyll character. Instead, it's warm, cozy, earthy, and genuinely makes you feel like you're resting on sweet-smelling hay bales in a barn. I found it delightful. My partner initially thought it had a soapy aroma, but once I explained it's mountain hay (and probably flowers), she understood immediately. This was from a pack of 5 liqueur miniatures purchased from Ettal Benedictine monastery in Bavaria. Rating: "Good" - 84/100 (3.75 stars)
