The aroma brings barley sugar, TCP, and citrus that leans toward disinfectant rather than fruit, with a light peat presence. The taste reveals significantly more peat than anticipated, offering brine, seaweed, lime, pepper, and chili. The finish presents licorice, Germoline, salt, and pepper, with a hint of sourness, umami, and boggy character. In summary, this is an adequate whisky. It delivers on peat and salt, aligning with typical Islay profiles. However, it lacks the refinement and depth of flavor found in classic Islays. The absence of complexity expected from an Islay is the main letdown. While not a bad drink, it's questionable why one would choose it over superior whiskies from the same region at a comparable price. Generally satisfactory.

NOSE: Evokes 1840s Industrial England, with hints of burnt oil lamp, peat moss, and a rustic sea captain. PALATE: Offers warm honey, an oaky sunset, vanilla, licorice, and pepper. FINISH: A smokey phantom, gearbox oil, and copper. NOSE: Smells of burnt rubber and an oil-slicked ocean. PALATE: Tastes of lavender moss, muddy bathwater with traces of shaving cream. FINISH: Reminds me of something mechanical in my car. NOSE: Abundant maritime peat, with iodine notes mingled with honey sweetness, paprika, salted caramel, and old books. PALATE: Smoke reappears with dark chocolate mint, espresso, and new leather, blended with honey and soy sauce. FINISH: Hints of boiled mint candies, licorice allsorts, bonfire smoke, and toffee pennies, with a touch of salt.

Nose: Iodine, briny sea air, charcoal, and some vegetal notes. A sweetness intermittently appears, like someone nearby is enjoying a warm white chocolate and raspberry cookie. Palate: Delightfully oily, with a light ashy smoke and sweet grains. Finish: Salty, ashy smoke. Evokes the sensation of a recently extinguished fire on the beach.

It has a very pale color, almost like white wine. The nose has some lemon and honey with smoke and salt. The palate is slightly medicinal with a very thin mouthfeel. The finish is short. It's pleasant and drinkable, with the nose being better than the palate. I would not purchase a bottle.

A very peaty, briny scotch. The aroma has salted caramel, while the palate offers spicy, salty chocolate. The finish is smoky. It's enjoyable, but a bit too intense, somewhat masking the spirit's other characteristics. It's certainly potent.

Received as a sample in a whiskey advent calendar. The aroma suggested both peat and citrus peel. Most of the smoky, peaty nose dissipates quickly on the palate. The finish is long and oaky.
